More on Goldwater and why pop culture matters

This page was buried near the end of the previous (very long) post and I'm not sure how many people made all the way to the bottom. That's too bad because it's an interesting glimpse into the conservative mind of 1964.

That's one of the reasons we seek out old comic books and movies and TV and radio shows, because sometimes they can give us a truer, richer picture of what people really thought than we can get from any retrospective view.

AuH2O

This Dell comic from 1964 raises all sorts of interesting questions. It reads like campaign literature but it seems to be a regular Dell one-shot intended for normal news stand distribution. Was LBJ given equal time or was Dell that open with its biases?
