Plastic Man in Wackyland (it can happen here!)
OK, there's no official connection between between this story and Bob Clamplett's classic but they both came from the same rich vein of American comic surrealism (circa 1930 to 1950) that also produced the Marx Brothers and Million Dollars Legs and other wonderful things.

The Dark Story of Bright Eyes
And I do mean dark.
Jack Cole's art always had its share of disturbing images (his depiction of an eye about to be stabbed by a hypodermic would figure prominently in Seduction of the Innocent), but those were primarily scenes of violence. The focus here is on cruelty, and is, if anything, more troubling.
